Outlet warmers are the format most likely to be left running, because they live in hallways and bathrooms and there is no cord to remind you they exist. They are also the format least likely to publish a timer: the plug-ins we index state no timer behavior at all.

Happy Wax's outlet warmer states "3-6-9 HOUR AUTO SHUT OFF TIMER" and describes what happens at the end - the warmer "automatically turns off after your selected time". That is a stated shut-off, not a vague timer mention, and the distinction is the whole subject of our warmer timer page.

It matters in one place more than anywhere else. Nebraska-Lincoln's housing policy allows only warmers "with an enclosed heating element and an automatic shut off" - a rule most of this category cannot satisfy in writing. The limit is that nothing here is proprietary. Any melt fits any warmer, so the ecosystem buys tidiness rather than compatibility.
